Abstract

This article builds upon a previous publication that served as an introduction to the intercomprehension of The Seven Sieves Technique within the Slavic linguistic domain (Hofmański 2020). The present study, as a second and complementary contribution to this subject, conducts a thorough analysis of the functionality of the technique when applied to pairs of Slavic languages characterised by differences in linguistic subfamily affiliation and the type of script employed (Latin alphabet vs. Cyrillic). The conducted analysis indicates that the difficulty level in comprehending a message subjected to the seven-step adaptive procedure is comparable for texts originally written in Czech and Ukrainian. This finding corroborates the hypothesis regarding the substantial potential of the technique and its full functionality in transcending the boundaries imposed by script variations.
