Abstract
The article analyzes the metaphor of the Black Sea in three contemporary Bulgarian movies - Hunting down small predators (dir. Tsvetodar Markov, 2010), Sneakers (dir. Ivan Vladimirov, Valeri Jordanov, 2011) and The Sinking of Sozopol (dir. Kostadin Bonev, 2014). The author of the thesis aims to answer the question about the origin of the symbolic meaning of the space and its connection with experiencing of freedom.
